Wicked Truffled Mac n' Cheese

My hubby Joel is a huge fan of Mac n' Cheese (Kraft's Easy Mac that is!).  It's easy (as the name suggests), quick and convenient to make. There's no way you can go wrong with its preparation (boil noodles, drain, pour back to the pan and add cheese powder, butter and milk! voila you have your Mac and Cheese ready for to go!).

Last week, we tried a high-end and rather gourmet version of this comfort food. Mr. Jones offers this special "Wicked Truffled Mac n' Cheese" which uses 3 kinds of macaroni, 4 different Canadian cheeses, double smoked bacon, baby portobello mushrooms, green peas and a drizzle of that oh-so-special and distinct truffle oil.

Their Wicked Truffled Mac n' Cheese  Php 395.00 - the serving is good for 2-3 persons so it's good for sharing. The combination of the different cheeses, the bacon lardons cooked to the perfect crispiness and the hint of truffle oil makes this dish truly stand out! The peas (unfortunately it was undercooked and a bit crunchy still - probably because it was still frozen when it was mixed with the sauce so it wasn't cooked through) could be taken out and the over-all dish would be just as good!

Henri : I like it! An innovative twist to an all-time-favorite dish! Yum yum!
