Juicing 101 : Clearer Skin and Healthier Kidneys

Juicing is a natural way of taking out toxins inside the body. An average daily person is exposed to thousands of toxins on a daily basis - industrial chemicals, pesticides, emissions from burning organic fuel, radiation, pollution, food dyes, preservatives, additives, pharmaceuticals, over the counter drugs and a whole lot more. It is vital to help our body combat these toxins to help boost our immune system and improve the quality of our health. 

Here are two very simple tonic mixes which are targeted to improve your skin and flush out your kidneys. I got the recipes from our "Juice Up Smoothie Down" workshop in Cintai Corito's Garden last year with vegan chef (who also happens to be my cousin) Marie Gonzales of Kitchen Revolution. 



Skin food

Cucumber, green pepper, and lettuce contain silicon which promotes anti-aging. Cucumber
soothes and softens the skin and has anti-inflammatory properties. Anti-oxidants in carrots
improve skin health.

1/4 green pepper
1 bunch lettuce
3 carrots, peeled
1 cucumber, peeled


Just place every thing in a juicer and enjoy! 


Kidney love

Kinchay is a diuretic and helps flush out toxins from the body. Celery breaks up gallstones.
Lime promotes urination and thus cleanses the kidney.
1 bunch kinchay or parsley
1 stalk celery
1 cucumber, peeled
. lime, peeled

Just place everything in a juicer and enjoy!
